Day 1. Naadam at National Sports Stadium
Experience the excitement of the Naadam Festival in Ulaanbaatar, where Mongolia’s vibrant traditions come to life. The festival begins with the State’s Nine White Banners carried to the National Sports Stadium, followed by a grand opening ceremony featuring colorful performances and a parade of traditionally dressed participants.
Witness the thrilling Mongolian wrestling tournament, where wrestlers perform the falcon dance before competing, and explore the archery and knuckle bone shooting games, showcasing remarkable skill and precision.
Soak in the festive atmosphere around the stadium, filled with music, performances, and lively crowds, and don’t miss tasting Khuushuur, Mongolia’s beloved crispy, deep-fried meat pastry—a true highlight of the Naadam experience!

In the morning, journey to Khui Doloon Khudag, the horse racing ground of the Naadam Festival, where Mongolia’s legendary endurance horse races take place. Watch as young jockeys, aged 8 to 13 years old, ride bareback or with minimal tack, guiding their horses across distances of up to 28 kilometers. The races are categorized by the horses’ age, making for a thrilling display of speed and stamina. Beyond the races, immerse yourself in the vibrant festival atmosphere, where temporary ger cafés offer a taste of Mongolian delicacies such as Khorkhog (traditional mutton cooked with hot stones), Khuushuur (deep-fried meat pastry), and barbecue, alongside Airag, the refreshing and slightly tangy fermented mare’s milk. In the evening, return to Ulaanbaatar, enriched by an authentic Naadam experience.
