Terkhiin Tsagaan Lake, well known as White Lake, is the heart of Khorgo – Terkhiin Tsagaan lake National Park. The lake covers an area of 61 square km (23,55 square miles). White lake is a jewel of Khangai Mountain range and one of the crystal freshwater lakes of the country. The eruption of Khorgo Volcano blocked the southern ending of the lake and formed this spectacular beauty at the altitude of 2060 m above sea level.
You may explore the scenic valley on horseback. Besides immersing yourself in the wild nature, be pleased with the warm welcome of the nomadic families that settled near the lake. The herders around the lake are famous for their yack. You may have a chance of getting insightful knowledge of the life of nomads.
